The Amazon Smart Plug is the official smart plug version from Amazon.
Since it is the official version it is the most popular Echo DOT smart plug option.
It only has one outlet but does not block the other outlet when it is plugged in.
Any device plugged to the plug can have the power turned on or off on demand.

Besides Alexa they can also be controlled from a smartphone app, and have other features such as being scheduled to turn on or off automatically.
The one downside of the HS100 is it has only one plug port and covers the other wall outlet, this of course doesn’t matter if a AC strip is being used.
